Vienna: Still a Just City?

 VIE/TRA'21 Conference

The conference was held at the University of Vienna on the 6th of October in 2021 and aimed at exploring the moments of change confronting local urban governance. It took place as a forum for discussing global trends and challenges, which Vienna faced over the past thirty years.

Speakers elaborated the structural and institutional particularities of Vienna in the policy fields of labor market, housing, environment and political participation, and could highlight their respective path dependent processes and outcomes within multilevel governance arrangements. Furthermore, the conference provided an opportunity for comparisons between Vienna and other European cities, and contributed to the discussion on the growing divergence of the European City Model.
